Hamburger Kunsthalle
This museum houses two of the most beautiful paintings by Caspar David Friedrich: Wanderer above the Sea of Fog and The Sea of Ice.
Actually, the Hamburger Kunsthalle houses masterpieces that cover seven centuries of history of art.

Internationales Maritimes Museum Hamburg
The red brick building housing the museum is majestic and retraces the naval tradition of the city of Hamburg.
On exhibition are around 26,000 model ships, (Phoenician galleys, Roman triremes, Viking ships, ships of the Hanseatic League and caravels) and also paintings, construction plans, maps and navigation instruments. The museums houses also the first nautical atlas printed in the Netherlands in 1657.

The RICKMER RICKMERS, built in 1896, is a museum where to experience life on a sailing boat and have experiences of a sailor of the 19th century, by identifying with captain Hermann-Hinrich Ahlers.
In 1896, the captain sailed to Hong Kong with a crew consisting of two helmsmen, a cook, a carpenter, a sailmaker, a stoker, 14 sailors and four ship’s boys. The ship sailed on stormy seas and returned loaded with rice and bamboo.

Deichtorhallen Hamburg
This is one of the main centers of contemporary art in Germany, and houses the House of Contemporary Art and the House of Photography, in addition to a hall for exhibitions of contemporary artists and the Falckenberg Collection. The two steel-and-glass structures, that once were a market, were turned into a place of culture.
The gallery arranges exhibitions of artists the likes of Marc Chagall and Andy Warhol.
