RIVUS ALTUS. 10,000 VISUAL FRAGMENTS FROM THE RIALTO BRIDGE

Venice, an ancient convent renovated with the most modern technologies, 1,354 photos-fragments, 264 hours lying in wait, 15,963 portrayed people.
These are the ingredients of Rivus Altus, a photographic exhibition illustrating one of the most famous places in the world, the Rialto Bridge.

It’s a photographic project by Massimiliano Farina, a Milanese architect and photographer, who analyzes Venice’s most photographed place, that panorama photographed by the majority of the tourists when visiting Venice.

The view over the Grand Canal consists of a mosaic made up of 78 fragments, chosen among the 11,354 photos taken by the author. Thanks to the innumerable possible combinations, the fragmented stereotype of Venice will be recomposed with surprising results.
