The year 79 AD it is sadly famous for the eruption of Vesuvius.
No one knew that the mountain that could be seen from Pompeii was a volcano and on 25 August an explosion of lava and incandescent ash destroyed the city, killing those who could not escape in time.
Pompeii was rediscovered after many centuries and archaeological excavations have unearthed the city.
There are many visitors who visit Pompeii every year and it is important to plan everything, from buying tickets to avoid queuing at the entrance to the path to follow in order not to miss the most important places and buildings.

POMPEII TICKETS: WHERE TO BUY THEM

Tickets to enter Pompeii can be purchased in 4 ways:

1 – at the ticket office, but being one of the most famous archaeological sites in the world the line is endless. I advise you not to arrive there without first having booked your ticket!

2 – on line, through the site that allows you to book tickets, choosing the day and time of entry, allowing you to skip the line –> Pompeii: Skip The Line

3 – by booking a guided tour, the only way to discover the secrets and curiosities of Pompeii without missing the most important streets, buildings and works.
However, I advise you not to rely on any guide and to have an expert accompany you. There is a very interesting tour, for example, which includes a two-hour walk with an archaeologist –> Pompeii: Guided Tour

4 – choosing a guided multi-day excursion to discover not only Pompeii but also Herculaneum and many other tourist attractions around Naples. The proposals are many.
