History of costume starting from Giorgione’s masterpiece

Giorgione | Pala di Castelfranco

Giorgione, Pala di Castelfranco

HISTORY OF COSTUME STARTING FROM A MASTERPIECE BY GIORGIONE

The Castelfranco Madonna, Giorgione’s masterpiece, will be the starting point for an exhibition illustrating the history of costume and fabric.

The exhibition entitled “The textures of Giorgione” will start from the rooms of the Museo Casa Giorgione (Giorgione House Museum) and will continue outside, in different sites of the town of Castelfranco.
Of course this is an art exhibition, but is dedicated especially to the history of costume and fabric. Because it’s starting from Giorgione’s masterpiece that you can understand that nothing is as it seems, and textures, meant as fabrics, are symbols but also messages that the characters portrayed by great artists wanted to imprint on our eyes and mind.
