THE LUCIANO VENTRONE HOUSE-MUSEUM OPENS

A little more than a year after Luciano Ventrone’s death on 16 April 2021, the Luciano Ventrone and Miranda Gibilisco Foundation opens to the public what was once the home of the Italian painter active between the second half of the 20th century and the early 2000s.

This makes it possible to visit the Casa-Museo Luciano Ventrone” in Collelongo and learn about the enormous legacy of an artist who spanned more than half a century, going down in art history as the “Caravaggio of the 20th century”– as the great art critic Federico Zeri defined him.

ART AND CULTURE IN BELGIUM: THE ART CITIES OF FLANDERS

Discovering art and culture in Belgium means first of all slowing down your pace, filling your eyes with beautiful landscapes and visiting art cities rich in history and masterpieces.

My first time in Belgium was dedicated to Flemish painting and the masterpieces in the museums of Ghent and Brussels.
I returned home with the feeling that I would have to come back because I still hadn’t seen everything, and I did.
In this post I share with you a trip to art and culture in Belgium, discovering the cities of Flanders.

THE WORKS OF PIETRO ALDI IN SATURNIA

The largest collection of works by Pietro Aldi is preserved in Saturnia, at the Polo Culturale named after the artist.
Inaugurated in 2016, the Polo Culturale Pietro Aldi houses the largest collection of works by the artist, is home to a library for children and young people, and organises temporary exhibitions of the highest calibre.

I recently visited the Polo Culturale Pietro Aldi, and in this post I will tell you about the life and works of an artist who told the great story of Italy.

WHAT TO SEE AT THE DUCAL PALACE IN MANTUA

When people ask me what to see in the Ducal Palace in Mantua, I always reply with a list of works of art and rooms that, in my opinion, everyone should see at least once in their lifetime.
Don’t think, however, that a list of four or five rooms means that a visit to the palace is within the reach of those who have little time.

Visiting the Doge’s Palace in Mantua takes at least half a day, but if you want to explore the whole palace at your leisure and get to know a good deal of its history, it might take even longer.
In this post I’ve made a list of what you absolutely must see at the Doge’s Palace in Mantua, but once you’re inside, you’ll be blown away by the vastness of the itinerary and the stories the works of art can tell.
