VENICE BIENNALE 2017: WHY I DIDN’T LIKE IT AND WHY YOU MUST VISIT IT

It may seem a strange thing that I write a bad review of the Venice Biennale 2017, and at the same time I suggest that you visit it.
After the Biennale 2013, dedicated to artists and thinkers, and the Biennale 2015 characterized by fragmentation and all the world’s possible futures, in this edition curated by Christine Macel, entitled VIVA ARTE VIVA I expected a Venice Biennale 2017 made up of hopes and artists able to describe the dream of a better world.

ARTE CONTEMPORANEA, COSA NE PENSATE ?

JOYS AND PEETA: MY GOOD OLD HABITS

Wunderkammern Milan present the exhibition “My good old habits” by Italian artists Joys and Peeta in its Milan venue.

Joys (Padua, 1974) started his career as a writer in the ‘90s, focusing his research on lettering.
Over time the letters have gone through a change which has transformed them in veritable visual structures, with an almost architectural coherence.
Peeta (1980) lives and works in Venice.
Studying sculpture and industrial design, the artist has elaborated a tridimensional painting in which the lettering acquires volume.

FLOW, ITALIAN AND CHINESE CONTEMPORARY ART IN DIALOGUE

A contemporary Palladio welcomes you with the works of Flow, Italian and Chinese contemporary art which are on exhibition in the hall of the Palladian Basilica in Vicenza from March 25th to May 7th 2017.
Flow underlines the free flow of artistic expressions of two very different people, Italian and Chinese people.

The exhibition, curated by Maria Yvonne Pugliese and Peng Feng, presents 14 artists for the West and 10 for the East, including famous and emerging artists, and new proposals.
In all, there are 28 works displayed in a space full of natural light coming from wide openings of a palace built centuries ago by Andrea Palladio.
