THE PALAZZO STROZZI AND AI WEIWEI: HISTORIC PALACES AND THEIR RIGHT TO LIVE IN THE PRESENT DAY

Ai Weiwei and the Palazzo Strozzi. 22 orange rubber boats anchored to the Palazzo Strozzi’s windows in Florence which will disgust art lovers, who want to see art always inside a museum.

The Nabis, Gauguin and the italian avant-garde painting

Mostra Babis Gauguin | Palazzo Roverella

MY VISIT TO THE EXHIBITION “THE NABIS, GAUGUIN AND THE ITALIAN AVANT-GARDE PAINTING”

This hot autumn with its sunny days makes everything more beautiful and makes you feel you are still on holiday.
Rovigo doesn’t escape from this magical atmosphere and the exhibition “I Nabis, Gauguin e la pittura italiana d’avanguardia” (“The Nabis, Gauguin and the Italian avant-garde painting”) on view at Palazzo Rovarella is the right occasion for you to plunge into a journey made up of colours and emotions.

Intense colours, total absence of details, an explosion of violent emotions, simplicity.
The exhibition “I Nabis, Gauguin e la pittura italiana d’avanguardia” (“The Nabis, Gauguin and the Italian avant-garde painting”) is all this.
The exhibition draws inspiration from a famous sentence by Gauguin, who declared with strength “ I want a simple painting, very simple”.

Instead, there are artists I always try to avoid, but at the same time they are a magnet for me, and I think of them and think them over, and the more I think of them the more they unsettle me, and I can’t help thinking about that.

Francis Bacon is the artist who more than others is capable of unsettling me (I’ve already talked about the exhibition dedicated to Bacon that will take place in Treviso from October 15th 2016 to May 1st 2017).
It will be the chance for me to deal with his works once and for all, and to lose myself in his visions.
This exhibition has aroused my curiosity and I can hardly wait for this autumn. In this post I’ll explain you why.
