Founded in 1872 by Baron Pasquale Revoltella, the Revoltella Museum in Trieste is the first modern art gallery established in Italy.
Its founder was one of the most representative figures of imperial Trieste. In his will, he bequeathed his palace and his enormous art collection to the city.

The Mauritshuis Museum is a small art gallery that houses the major works of the Dutch Golden Age of the 17th century.

From Rembrandt’s works to Vermeer’s famous still lifes, for which the Dutch were so admired, in this treasure trove of beauty you will find paintings to suit all tastes in an equally impressive location.
The Mauritshuis in fact owes its name to Johan Maurits, the first occupant of the residence and Count of Nassau-Siegen, who had the building constructed between 1633 and 1644.
You will thus find yourself strolling through the rooms of the museum admiring not only the wonderful paintings, but also the palace itself.

THE WORKS OF THE FORTUNY MUSEUM, THE HOME OF A BRILLIANT ARTIST

What are the works in the Fortuny Museum and why should you visit this Venetian museum at least once in your life?
The gothic Venetian palace that was the home but also the workshop of Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo (Granada 1871, Venice 1949) and his wife Henriette Nigrin, was one of the focal points of intellectuals in the early 20th century.

In cosmopolitan and industrious Venice, it was almost a must for the refined elite of the time to visit Mariano Fortuny and his wife, and it is now important to visit these rooms to discover the importance of his creative work in the culture of the early 20th century.
