ELISA TALENTINO’S WORKS ARE FOR THE COVER!
For some years now, Elisa Talentino has been one of the most sought-after illustrators by Italian publications and publishing houses.
Elisa Talentino’s works have, in fact, framed important novels (including the re-edition of Dacia Maraini’s complete works), published by Einaudi, Mondadori, Bompiani, Il Saggiatore, Edizioni e/o, La nave di Teseo, Enne Edizioni and many other publishing houses.
The works of Elisa Talentino
Elisa Talentino (Ivrea 1981) lives and works in Turin. She is an artist, an illustrator, a graphic designer, a painter and is also dedicated to animation techniques.
She has done editorial illustrations for major newspapers such as The New York Times, The Washington Post, La Repubblica, D di Repubblica, La Stampa and Corriere della Sera and has created covers for the publishing houses Einaudi, Mondadori, Bompiani, Il Saggiatore, Edizioni e/o, Enne Edizioni and many others.
Elisa Talentina’s illustrations, for example, accompany Sara Gamberini’s words in the enchanting tale “Quando il mondo era tutto azzurro”.
Elisa Tarantino’s works are created by experimenting with various artistic printing techniques, in particular screen printing and monotype, combined with traditional painting techniques.
Her sensual and mysterious figures move in a suspended time, in enveloping and lush natural environments. The environment and its inhabitants, animals and plants, are, in fact, an inescapable source of inspiration for the artist, who devotes herself to studies of botany and ethology: often used by her as symbolic elements and as keys to access her world and the stories she wants to tell us.
These stories most often have female figures as protagonists, who, free from representative stereotypes, express all the strength and fragility of their being.
His work has been selected by the New York Society of Illustrators (2019), Bologna Children’s Book Fair (2015), Ilustrarte – International Biennial of Illustration of Lisbon (2014) and won the Gold Medal in the 3 x 3 International Illustration Awards competition in New York for two consecutive years (2017/2018). In 2017, he made the animated short film Dandelion, which was presented at major international festivals.
His works have been shown in numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad and you can follow his work through his official website: www.elisatalentino.it
