MANET AND MODERN PARIS
An exhibition in Milan dedicated to Manet which will allow you to experience the Parisian atmosphere of the late 19th century.
Between 1850 and 1880 Paris was changing rapidly its appearance. And it’s that atmosphere of renovation and modernity that was described by Manet and some painters who were his companions during his life and work.

The exhibition is divided into 10 themed sections which will trace the life of the master and the artists close to him.

Promoted and produced by Comune di Milano-Cultura (the cultural department of the Milan city council), Palazzo Reale (Royal Palace) and MondoMostre Skira, the exhibition is curated by Guy Cogeval, the historic President of the Musée d’Orsay and Musée de l’Orangerie of Paris together with the two conservators of the Museum Caroline Mathieu, honorary conservator-general, and Isolde Pludermacher, conservator of the Department of paintings.
