Van Gogh movie. At Eternity’s Gate, after having been presented Venice Film Festival in 2018 and I sincerely could not wait to arrive in the cinemas.

The film directed by Julian Scnabel is presented at the cinema with some prestigious awards and a coveted nomination.
The film received the Mimmo Rotella Foundation Award and the director Julian Schnabel was awarded the Green Drop Award. Williem Dafoe, who plays Van Gogh, won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the 75th Venice Film Festival and received the Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Drama.

Water and light: symbols of Venice. This is the very reason we find them inside the Olivetti Showroom, a vintage dream in the historical heart of Piazza San Marco.

There’s a rare gem in the middle of Piazza San Marco in Venice, which deserves to get more attention. A true architectural beauty built in the Nineteenth Century that attracts thousands of visitors from all over the world, year after year.

It is the Olivetti Showroom, a space that showcases some of the iconic machineries and office tools that were designed and built by the renowned brand from Ivrea. Among them, “Lettera 22” is a special portable typewriter by Marcello Nizzoli, which is also exposed at the MOMA, in New York, pairing up with many other Olivetti cult devices.

I have wondered many times which the true meaning of Botticelli’s Primavera could be, a work that after hundreds years from its creation still exerts a great fascination on a wide public.
After the post the Birth of Venus and Botticelli’s muse it was time to describe the other great masterpiece by Botticelli, The Primavera.

There are neither documents about the origin of this painting nor about who the patron was, even though he was maybe Lorenzo di Pierfrancesco de’Medici, cousin of Lorenzo il Magnifico (the Magnificent). However, we can try to the read the artwork and develop some hypotheses.
