SALVATOR MUNDI: WORLD AUCTION RECORD FOR THE PAINTING ATTRIBUTED TO LEONARDO DA VINCI

The Salvator Mundi attributed to Leonardo da Vinci was sold at auction by Christie’s on November 15th 2017 for $ 450.3 million.
This is a world auction record: by far, this is the most expensive work ever sold at auction, and its new and very rich owner is obviously mysterious.

The Salvator Mundi has a complicated story I’ll tell you in this post and that will make you understand why so many people wanted it so much that the price starting at $ 75 million went up!

Virtual museum: the first virtual museum in Italy dedicated to painting

 VIRTUAL MUSEUM: THE MUVIG IS THE FIRST VIRTUAL MUSEUM IN ITALY DEDICATED TO PAINTING

Before entering the Muvig I had never visited a virtual museum.
I’ll be frank: the idea of entering a virtual museum had never appealed to me, because I always thought that a museum should house real works and not reproductions.

I changed my mind after visiting the Muvig, the Museo Virtuale del Garofalo (the Virtual Museum of Garofalo) located few kilometers from Rovigo, and which is dedicated to the Renaissance painter Benvenuto Tisi, known as “Garofalo”.

To know who Toulouse-Lautrec was Italy hosts one of the most complete monographic exhibitions ever displayed in Italy.
The artist who more than others was able to modernize the art of the late 19th century, is celebrated with an exhibition which is on view until February 18th 2018 at Palazzo Reale in Milan.
