The Girl with a Pearl Earring is a painting by Johannes Vermeer, which exactly like Leonardo da Vinci’s Mona Lisa is one of the world’s most famous paintings, and also one of the most reproduced.
It’s a painting which evokes beauty and mystery, a face which continues to fascinate everyone who admires it in person, or has discovered it through movies and books, even after more than three centuries.

The painting is also known as “Head of a Girl with a Turban”, and in this post I’ll tell you 5 things to know to really know it.

Louvre tickets: how to buy your ticket to skip the line

LOUVRE MUSEUM TICKETS: WHERE AND HOW TO BUY YOUR TICKET TO SKIP THE LINE

Louvre tickets: To visit the Louvre museum organization is what you need, and if you buy in advance the tickets in order to avoid the endless line at the entrance, your visit will start off on the right foot.

HISTORY OF FASHION IN THE ARTS OF THE LATE 19TH CENTURY

Paintings, sculptures, fans and period dresses will trace, in the rooms of the Züst Art Gallery, located in Rancate in the near Ticino, a crucial phase in history of fashion.
In the late 19th century women felt the need to “be fashionable” even outside their own homes.

It’s the paintings by great artists such as Giovanni Segantini, Gaetano Previati, Federico Zandomeneghi, Giuseppe De Nittis and many more that illustrate the rapid and surprising evolution of women’s clothing, and therefore this key moment of history of fashion and costume.
Their works will be displayed in the exhibition “DIVINE CREATURE. The woman and the fashion in the arts of the late nineteenth century”
