GUERCINO IN PIACENZA AND THE FRESCOES HOUSED IN THE CATHEDRAL

Piacenza is the entrance door of the Emilia, and is the city where you can admire one of the masterpieces painted by Guercino.
Fortresses, castles and villages are the setting of a very old city, which needs to be discovered little by little.

The Romans chose this territory of the Po valley to build a fortification and to establish a place of trade, which in the Middle Ages became an important economic centre, and later an important cultural centre.
To discover Piacenza you’d better start from the Cathedral, founded in the Middle Ages, which shows power and is a harmonious mixture of Gothic and Renaissance styles. But Guercino’s frescoes in Piacenza will draw your attention.

WHO IS DAMIEN HIRST

Damien Hirst was born in Bristol in 1965.
He studied Fine Arts at the Goldsmith College in London, and in 1988, while he was still a student, conceived and curated “Freeze”, a group exhibition which was the launching point for his artistic career and for a whole generation of artists called Young British Artists (o YBA).

Wunderkammern Milan present the exhibition “My good old habits” by Italian artists Joys and Peeta in its Milan venue.

Joys (Padua, 1974) started his career as a writer in the ‘90s, focusing his research on lettering.
Over time the letters have gone through a change which has transformed them in veritable visual structures, with an almost architectural coherence.
Peeta (1980) lives and works in Venice.
Studying sculpture and industrial design, the artist has elaborated a tridimensional painting in which the lettering acquires volume.
