These could be the key words of Damien Hirst’s great exhibition in Venice.
Two exhibition spaces, Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana, for a great event which has taken 10 years in the making, in which Damien Hirst displays a plausible story, which is, however, totally invented.

The Damien Hirst exhibition in Venice anticipates a few weeks of the events of the Venice Biennale, but this is an independent event destined to remain among the great events of the British artist.

THE FOURTH STATE: WHERE IT IS AND WHAT IT REPRESENTS

The Fourth Estate is the result of a long journey by Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo, who for the first time in the history of Italian art represents the rise of the labour movement in the social life of the country and does so as if it were inevitable.

The work is kept in Milan and I recommend you go and see it as soon as you can because Giuseppe Pellizza da Volpedo, an exponent of the pointillist movement, presented The Fourth Estate at the Quadriennale in Turin in 1902 and it has since become a symbol of the workers’ struggle.

The work was actually originally entitled The Workers’ Way, but at the last moment the artist decided to change it to what we all know today.

Miriam Wuttke is a very exciting artist . She expresses herself through different media,  painting , installation and performance.
She studied at first abstract painting at the art sudents league, then art therapy in combination with fine arts.
Thus her work is exploring continuously human behaviour and feelings.

Italy is the country which has the highest number of art cities in the world, where ancient and modern stories intertwine in alleys and squares, in palaces and historic shops throughout the peninsula.
In Italy you may walk and savour sweets made like they did a century ago, as it happens in the historic shops in Genoa; or you may stumble on the marvels of Rovigo, the city which keeps some masterpieces by Giovanni Bellini and Tiepolo.

I made a selection of the 5 italian cities which hold the best of Italy (food, art, extraordinary landscapes) and which this year should be visited because they organize unmissable events.

GARDENS TO SEE IN ITALY: 5 ITALIAN GARDENS TO VISIT IN SPRING

Gardens to see. In my blog I often write about Italy, museums, villas and castles surrounded by large parks.
If there’s one thing I do love doing when beautiful days arrive and the air becomes warmer, it’s discovering gardens, those gardens where you can sit on the grass or where you can be catapulted back in time and relive ancient stories.

If you have already visited at least one of these gardens, you know what I mean.
On the contrary, if you have never entered one of these gardens, you’d better look into your agenda and leave as soon as you have a weekend off.
