THE PRADO MUSEUM

The Prado Museum was inaugurated in 1819 and houses the private art collections of the sovereigns of Spain, who over the centuries have collected a huge amount of masterpieces.

Therefore, the main feature of the Prado Museum is that the museum is an expression of the taste and personality of the sovereigns of Spain. For this reason, it’s very difficult to select the most important works of art to see, and my suggestion for those who visit the museum for the first time is to plan in advance what to see, creating a tour by historical periods or by artists.

FEDERICO ZANDOMENEGHI

Federico Zandomeneghi was born in Venice in 1841 to a family of very famous sculptors.

His grandfather and his father, who had worked following in Antonio Canova’s footsteps, had created important works such as the Monumento a Tiziano (the Monument to Titian, 1835) housed inside the Basilica di Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari in Venice, and at first Federico seemed to be destined to follow in his predecessors footsteps entering the Accademia di Belle Arti of Venice.

The Ono Arte Contemporanea Gallery presents “Lucienne Bloch: dentro la vita di Frida Kahlo” ( Lucienne Bloch: inside the life of Frida Kahlo ), a photographic exhibition illustrating the friendship between Frida and Lucienne.

“I hate you” are the first words Frida said to Lucienne Bloch during the party at the MoMA of New York in 1931, arranged to celebrate Diego Rivera who, at that time would have frescoed seven panels for his solo exhibition at the MoMA, and Rivera and Lucienne seated near all night long, talking mostly about the fresco technique.
