Francis Bacon in Treviso. Among the most controversial artists of the 20th century who personify the stereotype of the damned artist, Francis Bacon holds a place of honour.
From October 15th 2016 to May 1st 2017, the exhibition Francis Bacon. I confini della mente (Francis Bacon. The boundaries of the mind) will analyze Bacon’s life and his artistic experience, through a tour showing his less-known Italian works.
The Venice International Film Festival is the world’s oldest film festival.
The first edition dates back to 1932, and was held on the terrace of the Hotel Excelsior on the Venice Lido.
At that stage it wasn’t a competitive event, but it consisted only of projections of films that would become classic movies.
