Affordable Art Fair 2016

Affordable Art Fair 2016

Once again, this year the Affordable Art Fair returns to Milan so that you can discover the latest art trends in art world, meet gallerists and artists, but especially you can purchase pieces of art.

The 2016 Affordable Art Fair will be held from 17 to 20 March at Superstudio Più in Milan and will offer, as always, pieces of art on sale at affordable prices, up to a maximum of € 6,000, choosing them from the 84 national and international participating galleries.

But there will be a lot of novelties.

This year a special section will be dedicated to Street Art, with a live performance by Ivan Tresoldi and No Curves.
Other themed sections of the past editions will be on show: Main, Photography, Exchange, and Young, which will exhibit the 5 Young Talents and the 9 Young Galleries selected among 600 contestants.
I also participated in the last year’s edition with the project “Facce da Blogger” (“Blogger Faces”) by Elena Datrino and by the Galleria Vittoria in Milan and this year you will enjoy my self-portrait among the works on display. Basically, I’m a living piece of art! : )

Among the events you can’t miss, there will be history of art lessons for all, in order to discover together with experts how to understand the latest art trends. Fausto Gilberti will talk about “The Artist’s Shit by Piero Manzoni and other art histories”; Denis Curtis will discuss the theme “The ambiguity of photography”; Flavio Caroli “The face of the West” and Luca Rossi will ironically talk about “Why Ikea evolved can save us”.

A special space will be devoted to children.
Children will approach art world through a series of interactive workshop and will have a great time during the Asian Night through a workshop dedicated to Korean KPOP dance.
Within a varied programme, the Affordable Art Fair again this year will keep its date with the Art Night Out, that is the Nuit Blanche dedicated to the art, which on March 18th will transform Milan into a special place where you will discover artist studios, designer showrooms and Street Art through themed itineraries around the city.

El Greco in Italy. Latest discoveries

The exhibition El Greco in Italy. Metamorphosis of a Genius organized by Kornice in Treviso at the Casa dei Carraresi, reaches the main goal of the curator professor Lionello Puppi, that is to have the opportunity to study and to try to solve some mysteries which are still wrapped around El Greco’s artistic career and life.

As I wrote in my post El Greco in Italy where you can read my review, the exhibition thrilled me.

Riot at the gallery by Umberto Boccioni

“All things move, all things run, all things are rapidly changing. A profile is never motionless before our eyes, but it constantly appears and disappears”.

This sentence belongs to the 1910 Manifesto of Futurist painters which was written also by Boccioni himself, and it is the basic text that allows us to understand his work.
In his paintings Boccioni depicted the movement, the ferment of life, and the emotions of modernity.

In this post I’m talking about Riot at the Gallery, a painting representing all the energy and movement of a fight in front of a Café in Milan.
