Some time ago I dedicated a post to a visit to the Castle of Miramare in Trieste, but I had left out a story concerning some rooms that indicate the passage of another man who fell in love with this place.
I am referring to Duke Amedeo d’Aosta who established his residence in Miramare from 1930 to 1937.

One of the most interesting novelties to have recently come out of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism’s ‘cylinder of ideas’ is the Domenica al Museo (Sunday at the Museum) initiative, which offers free admission to state museums on the first Sunday of the month.
A year after the start of this proposal, which I immediately took advantage of, I decided to share with you my itineraries, to show you what wonders can be admired to spend a Sunday of art, fun and at zero cost.
With this post, therefore, I begin a series of appointments in which I will take you on a discovery of museums large and small, but of unquestionable charm.
The first episode is dedicated to Miramare Castle.
Ca’ Pesaro is one of the most impressive Venetian palaces.
The building, once the residence of a noble family, overlooks the Grand Canal and hardly goes unnoticed.
The palace of Ca’ Pesaro is now the seat of the Galleria Internazionale d’Arte Moderna, but in ancient times it belonged to the important Pesaro family, who donated doges, generals and procurators to the Serenissima. This was a very rich and powerful family, who owned other palaces in the city besides this one, but with this building they expressed all their ambitions.
