200 WORKS BY ESCHER ON SHOW IN FLORENCE

Discovered by the general public in recent years, Escher’s works on display in Florence offer an opportunity to discover a visionary artist and to admire his creative universe.

In Escher’s art, science and nature, mathematics and magic, analytical rigour and contemplative capacity, come together and create impossible images.
Dutch-born Escher, who lived in Italy for many years, is a unique figure on the 20th century art scene. His works are part of the collective imagination and still today are capable of arousing admiration and reflections on our way of observing the world.

Experimentation and colour in the works of Raoul Dufy

Raoul Dufy (1877-1953). “30 ans ou la vie en rose”. Huile sur toile, 1931. Paris, musée d’Art moderne.

EXPERIMENTATION AND COLOUR IN THE WORKS OF RAOUL DUFY

Raoul Dufy was born into a humble family of modest economic circumstances.
His father was an organist and passed on his passion for music to his son Raoul, which the artist cultivated for the rest of his life and transferred into his works.

In Raoul Dufy’s works there is experimentation and colour, a constant desire to communicate through light and through what life had in store for the man who was one of the greatest interpreters of art history, straddling Impressionism and Fauvism.

MODULATING WASTE. ENRICA BORGHI’S EXHIBITION

The exhibition Modulare lo scarto is the solo show by artist Enrica Borghi that aims to focus attention on the virtuous use of what society throws away and on the concept of waste.

Enrica Borghi has been working for years with the mosaic technique, using materials that are considered useless and that the artist rescues from a destiny that is already sealed and that wants them to be thrown away or in a landfill.

THE PAINTERS OF POMPEII ON SHOW IN BOLOGNA

An exhibition that focuses on the figures of the pictores, i.e. the artists, craftsmen and painters of Pompeii, who decorated the houses of Pompeii, Herculaneum and the Vesuvian area.
It sheds light on the techniques, tools, colours and models used by the artists who worked in one of the most lively and stimulating areas of the Roman Empire.

The important patrimony of images that the artists left us, the splendid frescoes in bright colours and the large-scale works that still amaze us today, reflect the tastes and values of a society and patrons with different sensibilities and still to be discovered.
